A bit about me

Hi, I'm Caroline, a Person-Centred counsellor based in Teignmouth. Welcome to Reva Counselling.

I offer face-to-face sessions in a calm, confidential space where you can explore what's on your mind at your own pace. I also offer online sessions so I can work with you wherever you're based in the UK.

Before becoming a counsellor, I supported people in many different job roles over the past 25 years — including  Call Centre management roles, a trainer, carer and charity worker. Each role has shaped my understanding of people, resilience, and what it truly means to support someone through difficult times.

I'm a fully qualified counsellor registered with the NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society), with experience supporting individuals through complex and challenging circumstances. I take a trauma-informed approach where needed, and I'm also skilled in supporting clients with Autism and ADHD, working creatively and compassionately to tailor my approach as required.

Since qualifying, I've completed further training to work with young people aged 16+. These years can be very challenging for young people and parents to navigate, and I believe more support should be available. This  is why I offer a reduced rate for students wishing to access support.

My Counselling Approach

I work as a Person-Centred therapist. This is a non-directive approach where you take the lead.  I'm not here to tell you what to do or give advice. Instead, I provide space for you to have time to work out whats going on for you.

Sometimes that may mean exploring your feelings; sometimes it might be just trying to identify them. This can be hard in itself when you're struggling. My aim is to help you find your own way forward, without judgement or expectation.

My fees are £45 for a 50 minute session to be paid in advance.

I also offer a limited number of reduced rate sessions at £35 for students and clients on a low-income. If all the reduced rate slots are full, then I can place you on a waiting list until a spot becomes available.

The Counselling Connection

Irvin Yalom, in his book The Gift of Therapy, highlighted that it is often the relationship itself, more than any technique, that helps people heal.

In my experience, I have seen this many times. Counselling isn't about me having the answers.  It's about creating a space where you feel genuinely heard, accepted, and safe enough to be yourself.

That's why I believe the counselling relationship is so very important. It's within the relationship that trust can slowly rebuild, old patterns can be gently explored, and new ways of relating to yourself and others can start to take shape.
